Our experienced staff of Responsible Persons provides supervision/supports in daily routines but recognize the importance of residents maintaining their independent living skills. Supports are provided in personal hygiene, daily routines and safe medication administration. All direct care support is provided by staff employed by Brookhouse Home and outside agencies are not used for level of care. This provides our residents with the comfort of consistent and well trained staff.

Unique to a Rest Home setting, we have positioned ourselves with community agencies to provide both Occupational and Physical therapy services that assist residents in acclimating to their new home and eliminating the need for residents to go outside the home for short term rehabilitation needs. If necessary, we have established a network with the finest rehab centers local to the area where residents can receive services and families are able to maintain their contact and visits. In addition, we have lab services that come to the home as needed and two local physicians who still make “house calls”.

The Activities Director designs an activity program that provides a stimulating environment and challenges residents both mentally and physically. We recognize the importance of residents being actively engaged throughout their day. We are fortunate to have a volunteer program that brings with it students from our community that bring a young and positive energy to our home. Resident families are very impressed by the variety of activities offered. From exercise to cultural arts and community outings, we provide active programs that encourage socialization both at home and the local community.

Meals are prepared on-site, nutritionally balanced and reflect the preferences and ethnic backgrounds of our residents. In additional to dinner meals, residents are provided a variety of fruits and healthy snacks throughout the day. The menu reflects both resident choices and the comfort foods that appeal to the senior generation.

Linens are provided and personal laundry cared for by our staff. While we encourage our residents to maintain their skills in keeping their rooms tidy, our housekeeping staff is responsible for maintaining resident rooms and the common areas to ensure a clean and comfortable home.

Our Administrator brings over 30 years of professional experience in both Nursing and Administration. With us for over 12 years, Paul Murray recognizes the balance in providing supports paired with honoring the personal choices and independence of our residents.

Brookhouse Home, the home that encourages senior women to live active, satisfying lives both at home and within their community. As a not for profit home, we can assist residents in being enrolled in Medicaid or Transitional Assistance so regardless of financial resources or income, Brookhouse is a viable option for all senior women.

Unlike private, for profit assisted living programs that require private pay, Brookhouse Home is reimbursed by state agencies allowing women of limited income to make Brookhouse their home.
